I really hate car mechanics. They must think the people whose cars they service are stupid. I took my car in to have it's pathetic, failing brakes done on Monday, and they made me wait around for FIVE HOURS until it was done.
THEN finally when it was done, I went home, and then noticed that the handbrake wasn't working. I called the mechanic and he was like, 'It'll take a few days for it to reset, if it doesn't start working by Wednesday, call us back and we'll fix it.'
Yesterday, Wednesday, it was still not working. I was in horrible traffic on the way home from work, as I normally am, and because I'd set the brake in the car park and it seemed to work, I set the handbrake on while I dug through my bag to answer my ringing phone.
Before I realized what was going on, I was rolling backwards, and hearing LOTS of beeping from the SUV behind me! I slammed on the regular brakes, nearly skidding the car - the rear brakes still felt slippy!

Oops. Stupid Zmud. Anyway, I was so angry, I called the car place this morning to see if I could take it in on the weekend, and of course, they're all scheduled out, plus the mechanic who worked on my car isn't there on Saturday so I'd be taking a chance by having someone else fix it. So I have to take ANOTHER day off work to have the stupid people who botched it in the first place make me hang around there for god knows how long AGAIN to fix it.
I am so frustrated I could spit. For once in my life, I'd like to find a car mechanic who is not only competant, but doesn't charge through the nose, and actually completes the damn job I paid him $400 to do!
There. I feel better now.
